Washington State is gearing up for the national suffrage centennial in 2020!
To mark 100 years since the ratification of the 19th Amendment gave most women the right to vote, The Washington State Historical Society, Women's Commission and Women's History Consortium are teaming up to lead statewide programs and to represent Washington in nationwide initiatives.
We're tapped in!
No matter where you are in Washington State, find out how the suffrage centennial is being celebrated near you by checking out our regularly updated events calendar or by following @suffrage100wa on social media.
Have an event to share? Let us know!
By the end of 2020, we will give our $150,000 to schools, libraries and non-profits to support programs that honor the suffrage centennial.
In addition to our grant program, there are several statewide and national initiatives you can get involved with.
